I'm so proud of you!

I read a tweet this morning that made me think. The tweet said something a lot of adults tend to do young people.  As an adult, we want our children to do better then we did and we sometimes push them to hard. We don't see what they have done. All we ever see is what they should've, could've, done better and not the good in what they have already done to get to where they are. So on behalf of all the adults, I want to say this....
We are proud of you for:
  • Giving it your best
  • Being an excellent student
  • Going the distance
  • Being a great parent
  • Still standing strong through all the things that life puts you through
  • For not giving up
  • Messing up and admitting that "I messed up and need help fixing it."
  • For being you!
(Thanks Asiah  :-) )

Cutting Strings

Have you ever felt like you are a puppet on strings because so much is pulling at you? You have this person needing you to do this. This person wants you to solve their problems. This person that depends on you for everything. That person who can't seem to do anything for themselves. Not including that you have issues of your owns that you are trying to solve. Today is the day, that you cut your puppeteers strings! Let go of things that you can't fix. It's nothing wrong with trying to help or wanting to help but if you don't help yourself, how can you someone else? It is time to man/woman up and take care of  business. Its time to stop worrying about things that are irrelevant and be concern about things that matter. Life is short and time is precious. Cut loose the strings that are holding you down from going forward in life in a positive manner and become your own puppeteer, or like Pinocchio, a real boy!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Undercover Boss

Sitting up with Jazyme watching one of my favorite shows, Undercover Boss made me do some thinking. What would it be like to go undercover in some of these jobs? Did these owners really make these changes? Was it all just for TV? Either way, its amazing to see the "HHIC" (Head Honcho in Charge) do what the ordinary people do in their business. Some times, I wonder if we would have someone such as a member of the school board, a member of Congress, even the Governor or the President of the US, to trade places with a teacher. Would they still make and pass some of the laws that controls the decides that are made for Education today? Could they last a day at Northwest Halifax? Could they do half of what some of your teachers do? What do you think? Do you think they would change the way Education is today and give more to help improve how we learn? Would they rethink the pay scale and pay teachers like they pay pro athletes? (Okay, maybe I went to far with that but its no harm in wishful thinking.) Ms. Allen (or am I?)

Have you ever wondered?

Good Morning/Afternoon to you all. I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Have you ever wonder why some things happen? You applied for college and did everything you supposed to do but you didn't get accept but someone who hasn't done half of the work and don't want to go has gotten accept? Or why are so many young people dying? We all have times where we work so hard for something and we still can't get it but others can. Some times, its just not our time or it can be a wake up call. Things happen in our life for a reason. In the greatest book ever written it says that "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" (Ecclesiastes 3:1) We must learn to be patience and wait on our time and to learn to accept things that happens. Whether good or bad, it all can workout for your good.

Don't take it for granted

Hello and Happy Monday to you all. Have you ever thought how much the little things mean to you? I didn't realize how important the little things were to me until I was told I couldn't do it. Thursday, my doctor told me that I couldn't lift anything and was on light duty for two weeks. I was like okay, I can handle that. When he told me I couldn't pick up my baby, that's when my world stood still. What you mean I can't pick up my Princess? I was speechless. He did tell me I could hold her. I was a little bit better but still I couldn't pick her up. I was at the house getting ready to wash clothes....that was a no go. I can't even pick up my back pack. The ride to work was even uncomfortable. The little ordinary things that we do on a regular basis has been taking from me. For 2wks, I have been, what feels like, put on punishment. We never realize how important the little things are until they are taking from you. Now I have to wait for someone to get my backpack out the car or to put it in the car. I have to wait for someone to get a pan out for me to cook. I can't even go to buy grocery unless someone goes with me. Be thankful everyday for being allowed to do the little things.
