I sat in bed yesterday morning, trying to explain 9/11 to my 7yr old. He really didn't understand it all but he said he got it. (LOL) I had given up on him understanding it until we saw a billboard on 95. He said, "Mommy, the 1s are replaced by two buildings. That's the twin towers right?" I smile and said, "Yes, Pooh. That's right." He was actually listened.
I remember when the attack on the Ground Zero happened. I thought it was a movie. I was at ECSU and I woke up to it on TV (since I slept with the TV on). I got up and it was on in the living room as well. I got dressed and went to work study in Coach James office. He was watching it too. This movie must be a great one that everyone is watching I thought, because it was on in the cafe and the Viking Den when I walked by to go to the gym. I watched it for a lil while then turned the channel. It was on all the channels I turned to. I came to the realization that APRIL THIS IS NOT A MOVIE! Coach came in an was asking me what was going on so far and filled me in on what I missed. I was totally in shock. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Classes were canceled and campus became very quiet.
10yr Anniversary, we remember those who died and gave their lives for us. Who made sacrifices to save those who was wounded and some even scarified their on life for others. To those who still stand tall and for the families that loss their love ones fighting to keep America the Land of the Free...I say THANK YOU!

I was in the second grade when 9/11 happened. When I heard about it, I didn't think it was such a big deal because I heard about plane crashes before. I thought it was just another one. Later on, I realized what the damage was and all the lives that were lost.

ReplyDeleteWhen this tragic event occured, I was at school. I didn't find out about it until later that night when I got to grandma's house. It was all over the news. I was only 7 so I didn't fully understand what was going on. I do remember all the fighting and craziness it sent us into though. I don't think about it much though but it was a very tragic event in history.
ReplyDeleteI kind of dont remember 9/11 , I just mainly remember what happened. I dont know what I was doing or where I was at the time when it happened. I guess it was just like a historical event that everyone remembers.

ReplyDeleteAll I remember is being in elementary and the teachers making all this racket about what was going on. Not only did I hear about the 9/11 at school but my family had multiple conversations about it. I listened and kind of understood what was going on, but mainly I prayed because there were killing in this incident and hurt many families.

I remember seeing the first plane flying in one building, then another plane flew into the other building. I remember the building being on fire and people started jumping out the building. I remember the man they blamed it on (OSAMA BIN LADEN). I remember everything about 9/11.
