Since I have been out on maternity leave, I have watched more television then I usually do. I have paid attention to things that don't normally catch my attention because I'm not a person who likes drama. I have noticed that in the past month, more athletes have been having some serious issues and kind of getting away with a slap on the wrist. Take for example, Josh Brent who killed his teammate, Jerry Brown with intoxicated manslaughter. Now I am a die heart Dallas Cowboy fan but I have a problem with him being able to come back and be on the sideline after killing his teammate. If it would have been one of us, they would have us under the jail at Alcatraz. Just 7 days prior to that, Jovan Belcher kills his girlfriend and himself. Now if he would he wouldn't have committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager, would he have been slapped on the wrist until the season was over? What about the guy from Notre Dame, Manti Te'o and his "girlfriend hoax"? Do you think that this prank will keep him from being drafted to the NFL? I doubt it. Now how about the media giving Beyonce a hard time about lip syncing the National Anthem. Many popular singers has lip sync a lot of their songs, so why are they give her so much problem. If you think about, we all are human and that we all should be treated equal. Just because we don't make millions of dollars and live in a $4.5 million home, doesn't mean that we shouldn't be treated like the others. What your status is shouldn't determine how you are a treated. A crime is a crime, no matter how big or small and no matter who committed it. Let's start treating everyone the same, whether they are the President of the US or someone hanging out at 5 Points.
Ms. Allen
some people are highly favored over other people because of money, looks, and fame. it isnt faire because it stay in the consitution that men are created equal so there no one is better than the next. - tyesha johnson
ReplyDeleteMany people believe that racism is over but many situations occur like they do because the world is still black and white. Money plays a big part as well regardless if you were wrong in a crime or not. The government will always be crooked and more leaner towards riches.
ReplyDeleteThey are treated better because of all the money that they have even though everyone should be treated equal. That is just how it works now a days. For example when Mike Vick was sent to jail over dogs while other players have killed teammates and other people but still are allowed to play.
ReplyDeleteIn this world many people believe that power should go to the most dominant race or that it should go to the people with the most money. The government will always favor certain groups of people more than others. In my opinion, everyone should be treat as equal of one another.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion i believe everybody should be treated like one another. There is noone in thihs world that is better than anybody. People are still racist and it doesnt make any sense what so ever. People like people because of the stuff they have and not for who they are.
ReplyDeletei think everyone should be treaeted equally because everyone was put on this earth the same way. Even if we aren't millionaires, we're all the same in a way. either way everyone should be given the same oppurtunities and chances.
ReplyDeleteI was just about to bring up the same subject as Kwymane. Some people are treated very differently when it comes to how they look, how much money they make, or where they came from. For example, Lil Boosie and T.I. (both rappers) had to serve time for the crimes they commited, but as you said the athlete that killed his teammate got a slap on the wrist. Do you think that's fair? What's so different from an athlete and a rapper? They are all humans that have disobeyed the law who should be treated equally.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest,
ReplyDeleteI don't like drama either. I try to keep myself from things that aren't my buessiness. But sometimes when you see some bullying, treating other people bad, or racism, i can't just sit there and watch. I'll make sure that person that was beening mistreated gets the right treatment as others. And if they dont like what i'm saying they shouldn't have said anything absurd to that person. People have feelings. And what you say will hurt. People want to be treated with respect. And if you can't do that, Well I am very sorry to hear that. I just better not find you treating other people wrong.
Everyone should indeed be treated equally. Your name or what you have should not matter when it comes punishment/criticism. A crime is a a crime no matter who committed and should be handle as such. A lot of crimes get brushed off while little things such as Beyonce lip synching get more attention. Milli Vanilli used to lip synch all the time but now our society has been turned upside down and lip synching is a bigger "crime" than murder.
ReplyDeleteI also do believe that everyone should be treated equally. People get treated differently because of there skin color.
ReplyDeleteYou should worry less about what a person look like and more of what the person has done. they need to wake up and realize that what they are doing is not right.
I believe that people are treated in many different ways. Whether its fair or unfair. Most of the time people have favorites, or they're treated differently because of their race, religion, or what lifestyle they live (a celebrity or a homeless person.etc). YESSS, maybe Beyonce did lip sync it was HER song and still HER voice. Josh Brent should have been locked up, and not set free. People always worry about the wrong things in life instead of the important things. Justice should be served when it really needs to be.
ReplyDeletePeople are treated different everyday to me over different things.Do I think its fair ? No everybody should be treated equal no matter what color they are or religion.Like my boy that just died in RR he had shootout with cops but if you are a cop you dont shoot to kill unless they are n real danger, one cop shoot him in the leg he fell that suppose to be it go over an arrest him but other cops shot him died I think just because he was black. End of day justice suppose to be served when its right
ReplyDeleteI know that this is not a matter of whether or not this kind of thing is fair, because when people really think about it they know that it isnt. This situation really is a question of where human morals have disappeared to and why we as a people have been to confuse right with wrong. Sometimes we place lesser wrong doings over horrible crimes for the sake of sports or publicity. I'm starting to think this will never stop but only get worse.
ReplyDeleteI feel like every human being should be treated equally. Because no matter what my background, my religion, my race, and etc. is, I will treat you as you treat yourself. Money is a material thing, so no one should be trying to live high minded and better than anyone else because of what they call "money". So as for these athletes, I feel like as fast as they made it to be a superstar, can get taken away from them even faster. No one should be looked upon as white, red, yellow, nor black. Fair is everyone getting the same freedom and rights, but unfair is what's going on in the society today.
