Undercover Boss

Sitting up with Jazyme watching one of my favorite shows, Undercover Boss made me do some thinking. What would it be like to go undercover in some of these jobs? Did these owners really make these changes? Was it all just for TV? Either way, its amazing to see the "HHIC" (Head Honcho in Charge) do what the ordinary people do in their business. Some times, I wonder if we would have someone such as a member of the school board, a member of Congress, even the Governor or the President of the US, to trade places with a teacher. Would they still make and pass some of the laws that controls the decides that are made for Education today? Could they last a day at Northwest Halifax? Could they do half of what some of your teachers do? What do you think? Do you think they would change the way Education is today and give more to help improve how we learn? Would they rethink the pay scale and pay teachers like they pay pro athletes? (Okay, maybe I went to far with that but its no harm in wishful thinking.) Ms. Allen (or am I?)

  1. I always imagined what would happen if the people who've had everything given to them actually got out and worked for it. How would they act? Would everything seem plain & simple then? Same thing with jobs, these "top" people don't know the ends and outs of their own corporates; until they spend one day figuring it out(which they can't handle).

  2. People that has always had something handed to them have never worked for anything. They never learned the enns and outs to different jobs. I feel like they should learn and be trained before moved up to a higher position in a company.

  3. I truly believe that some people aren't cut out to take a step down into the shoes of the people who work for them. I don't think that people like our very own superintendent would want to keep their own facilities running. I have a lot of respect for the CEO's etc that appear of Undercover Boss and then go back to improve their companies. They have taken the time to see their flaws and work hard to fix them.

  4. Alot of things are seen differently when people are placed in different situations. Usually things are not even "important" to those in charge until they are faced and affected directly. I've never understood why the rich get to decide what's best for the middle class, but that's just the crazy society we live in today.

  6. If you always had things handed to you all the time you wouldnt really know how to actually to perform jobs properly. Having to learn the ends and outs of jobs is a good thing. It teaches you how to appreciate things and learn how to workout problems and get through different obstacles.

  7. I watch this show and I really like it. People own and work behind the scenes of these businesses and never really know how it really goes. If one of thoes people were to go undercover at this school there whole perspective would change and I think they would chsnge the rules. It would give them a chance to really see what teachers and students go through.

  8. I'm not ssure how these things work because its all backwards. But I feel like if these people had to be a teacher for a day, they wouldn't make and pass some of the laws that they do today because they would see how a teacher feels when they have to deal with other people children. Everyone isn't a golden child, so they would experience the reality. I feel like they would do more things to make a education easier to recieve and they would allow teachers to teach the way that fits them. But they would never experience that feeling, because those who are above everyone else would never step down and take on that challenge.

  9. I've never watched that show before, but I believe they would have a different aspect on things. I agree that the teachers should be paid more because they have a great part of many childrens futures to be paid such a low salary. No, I'm not just saying this because my mom is a teacher lol, but because I see what teachers have to deal with every single day....it's tough at Northwest lol.
